A Ghostly Trouble

Ghost! Ghost! Rumours of them are constantly spreading. Do they really exist? To know the answer, ask yourself. Have you ever encountered fear which tantalizes your sense? Had cold spot that gave you goose bumps? Windows and doors slamming shut with no apparent reason? Perhaps, things moving on its own or stairs that creek under the pressure of nothing but the howling winds? Sounds of animals prowling in the distance which rips of your walls of bravery? If you answered yes to all the questions, you would definitely agree with me that ghost really do exist.

To those who are new to this ghostly business you may be wondering what are ghosts? First of all, ghosts are not the spooky and eerie creatures that you see in the movie. They are actually a form of energy just like atoms and molecules. It is a form of energy that can pass through various medium. Some may also refer to a ghost as human spirit or soul both the living and the deceased. It can also denote any spirit or demonic representation. To the phasmophobic, they may define ghost in a more extreme way. To them, ghosts are light rays which bring darkness into their world. It’s their worst nightmare coming to live.

To justify the existence of ghost, it is necessary that we first ask ourselves, whether there are matters which exist beyond the reach of physical sense? Most of us tend to stray from path of believe as physical senses are truly confined within physic law therefore, you become incapable of thinking beyond the bubble of the physic mind. However, it is an undeniable fact that in reality or just as tiny fabric of energy, everything out of the ordinary does exist. These things are real in the mind of god and only await the discovery by man.

Humans are truly interesting creatures. Don’t you think so? We believe in god under the theory of universal consciousness yet we deny the existence of the very so similar energy known as ghost. In my opinion, to seeing is believing. To all the orthodox individuals who live under the clouds of denial, here is my advice to you. Learn to believe or let time teach you to believe.

It's All in the Name of Fantasy

“Do you think I am trying to weave a spell? Perhaps I am; but remember your fairy tales.  Spells are used for breaking enchantments as well as inducing them.  And you and I have need of the strongest spell that can be found to wake us from the evil enchantment of worldliness which has been laid upon us for nearly a hundred years.” – C. S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory: and Other Addresses, 31.

If I go to watch movie in cinema, I will choose wisely a movie that is worth to be watch. In my opinion, I think both of the movies, Narnia and Harry Potter have similarities in the plot of the story. Chronicles of Narnia is the story of Pevensie siblings which are four children in different age of group being evacuated to a professor's country house which is found to be safer place during the World War 2. They stumbled across a wardrobe that actually has a magical world, called Narnia. A winter witch, Jadis made the world in winter all the time, so the story begins with forces gathered by Pevensie siblings with help of Aslan in order to defeat the witch. Same goes to the movie plot of Harry Potter which shows about Harry, the 'boy' who lived is being introduced to world of witch at the age of eleven. Challenges faced by the 3 best friends who are Harry, Hermione and Ron in defeating the destiny. One can't survive while the other is still alive when it comes to intertwined characters, Potter and Voldemort. Both movie start with the magical world which does not exist in real life and it mirrors how the characters defeating the challenges.

Main characters in the Chronicles of Narnia are Aslan the lion, Pevensie siblings, Prince Caspian and Jadis the witch. While the main characters in Harry Potter are Harry Potter itself, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort. A spiritual character is possessed by Aslan the lion, and is it very wise in taking care of children that come to Narnia. It also seen as an alternative of Jesus through its Christianity values. King and Queens of Narnia are King Peter the Magnificent, Queen Susan the Gentle, King Edmund the Just, and Queen Lucy the Valiant. All four siblings reunited to defeat the White Witch with the help of Aslan. While Harry Potter is a protagonist and fictional character in this film which possess characteristics of temperamental, loyalty, and loneliness but he has ability to put a spell just by witnessing it once and even can cast magic spell without holding his wand. While the antagonist is Lord Voldemort, noted as you-know-who practices black magic to reach the immortality. He is the one who has no nose and looks thin with long fingers, he looks down on Muggles because he has pure blood tendencies.

The story of Narnia took place mainly in England and fantasy world of Narnia which is full of magical creature like Talking Beast, for the first movie which is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. While the second movie which is Prince Caspian has been cast in Narnia only and another movie, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader took place in a dark island of Narnia. In contrast, all eight of Harry Potter movie serie has been cast in Hogwarts Schools of  Witchcraft and Wizardry and AzkabanPrison only.

Both of the film series possess good moral values to be follow in our daily life. The heroes of Harry potter shows adoption of good virtues such as courageous fights in supporting nation than sacrificing life on earth. Besides that, the movies tell us that choices will determine who we are instead of our abilities, the free will of Harry in making right choice to design his life although the upbringing isn't that good. While the film series of Narnia teach us honesty as basic value in human life. Edmund took white witch for granted and told differently about the witch to Peter and Lucy in order to his aspiration to be a prince. Next, the eldest in Pevensie siblings, although at first Peter was afraid to Aslan, he is courageous in protecting his family and the destiny of Narnia.

The movies seem quite impressive to me, and I felt that it's suitable to be watch by any age of group, because it potrays very good moral values to be applied in our daily life. As it is film series of magical cum adventure, it won't be so boring and it's a must to watch. Happy to share with you all.

Magic Everywhere

Imagination and creativity from some people has created tales. Fairy tales are the most wonderful and magically tales created ever. These tales have captured millions of hearts with their adventurous journey and romance. These fairy tales not necessarily contain fairies, but they all weave a tapestry of magical world where fairies, and other supernatural beings, are possible. In addition, these stories also have the ability to inspire wonder and give us a sense of surreal.

Jealousy, assassination, friendship, trustworthy and wisdom had been portraying beautifully in this tales. Most of people in this world admire the tales so do I. There are many fairy tales such as Cinderella, the Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Rapunzel.  However, I admire most is the princess and the peas. It is about how a princess is chose to be the bride for a eligible prince. I like how the queen used her wisdom to prove Princess is a true princess.  At the end the princess is proven as a true princess by a magically peas and live happily ever after. This story not only about a romance, it also portrays a family bond between the queen and his son. This is shown how the queen willing to do anything for his son. This tale also shows the important to treat your guest properly. This can be seen by the way the queen treat the princess although she do not know if the princess is a true princess or likewise.

Besides that, Beauty and the Beast  is another tale that i admire. This is because this story shown that not everything we can get what we wish for easily. Sometimes we need to work hard. This value can be observed  well through the character of Maurice. Being a single father and an avid inventor, he never gave on trying out new things although he was not successful at first. His continuous effort was rewarded when he finally managed to create a wood chopper. Sacrifices are a necessary component of our life. Bell was so concerned about her fathers who is old and sick that she is willing to sacrifice her freedom in  return for her fathers freedom. I also admire this story because, it makes us realize that we should never judge a book by its cover. Beast was first shown as a mean beast. As the story develops and Bell begins understand Beast's character. We must understand that not everyone who looks bad is bad.

In my opinion, every fairy tale has their own characteristic which makes them differ from each other. However most of them have some similarity in their stories. We can see that good relationship between families is very important even though you are the most important people in this world. Furthermore, every tale shows every heroine is a good people. If you notice that in every stories tells that a good people will always get their happiness even they have to go through many worse situation. From these tales I learned that sometime we need someone with us to swim through the challenge in our life.  The determination in life will also help us in our future.

In conclusion, fairy tales is not just a story. They have a lot of hidden lesson that we can learned and apply it in our life. The authors of these tales insert many ways to overcome our failure. It is true that sometime we also need a miracle and magic in our life after we try our best on achieve anything in our life. Remember that we were born to be a winner not a loser. That is what I learned from these fairy tales.

Multiculturalism

What do you understand about diversity? If you seek diversity in dictionary, you can see that it simply means a variety or difference. However, some people have misunderstood diversity as the involvement of racial minorities. Race is one of the many aspects that can help create a diverse group of individuals. Diversity includes race, national origin, home state or country, interests and other factors. What about cultural? Are you aware of what it means? It is actually relating to a particular of society and ideas.

Every nation on the globe has their own cultural diversity due to variety of tribes and cultures. This makes the country special and unique. Traditional food is one of the example cultural diversity. It also represents the specialty of each tribe. It is an undeniable fact that eating is enjoyed by everyone; hence this is a good way to introduce the uniqueness of your own nation’s culture. Damper is a traditional Australian soda bread prepared by swagmen, drovers and other travellers. It is a wheat flour based bread, traditionally baked in the coals of a campfire.

Owning to rich cultural heritage, there are wide assortments of traditional games that are still playing although some of it had become extinct in developing waves of technology. Most people nowadays put the blame on the shoulders of the young as they said youth spend most of their time in front of electronic media resulting in these games to be forgotten. Nevertheless, this cultural heritage can be one of the tourism attractions which can help to increase one country’s economy. In Australia, one of their traditional games is Kai. This game from the Torres Strait a number of players stood in a circle and sang the Kai wed (ball song) as they hit a ball up in the air with the palm of their hands. The game was played using the thick, oval, deep red fruit of the Kai tree which is quite light when dry.

Multiracial countries have a lot of benefit. The uniqueness of traditional dances and music can attract a large number of tourists to their country. Tourists are usually interested with the features such as instrumental and vocal music of different tribes, as well as traditional dances of each races. This type of culture can also symbolize the loveliness as we can see it through the graceful of the dances. Australia has a unique traditional dances it is a combination of English, Irish, Scottish and other European dance. Bush dances are similar to American line dances or American square dances, in that all dancers know certain steps and execute them together. Partners are often changed in the course of the dance.

Traditional costume is another example of cultural diversity that we can see in most country. Every race has their own traditional costume which they used in every special event. Most of the costumes symbolize the chastity and politeness of each tribe. Moreover, with the traditional costume, we can recognize where the races came from and it history. There is an ethnic in Australia named Indigenous Australians. They didn't wear much at all before white settlement. Drawings and photographs show them wearing little or nothing. However in the early 1870s, the original hat-making factory, not called Akubra at that time, was founded by Benjamin Dunkerley. A recent immigrant to Australia, Dunkerley set up shop in Tasmania after inventing a machine that removed the hair tip from rabbit fur, leaving the softer under-fur for use in the making of felt hats. Since then, Australian developed forms of dress include Akubra hats, RM Williams boots and bush wear, Ugg (sheepskin) boots and Speedo swimming costumes.

In a nutshell, cultural diversity is actually necessary in every nation in this world. This is because every culture has its own nostalgia to be remembered throughout all the generation. This is also to ensure that this historical culture will never lost in the rapid development of technology.

Treasure or trash?

Every child is precious when born to earth, the possibilities for the same child to be good or bad in character is depend on how the parent raise the child. It's very sad when the child don't have an opportunity to build up the character as it is being dump before even start to breathe. Baby dumping which is also called in a term of 'infanticide' is becoming an social issue which expose the nation to chronic crisis lately. According to dictionary, infanticide is the act or practice of killing newborn infants. The person responsible for this cause is women who are also mother-to-be in the human birth but being so violent in taking care of new generation due to desperate circumstances.

The baby is out by the time they start to think. One of the prime factor that became backbone of baby dumping issue is teenage pregnancies which is known as premarital sex among the under age group. Apart from that, faltering family institution could be a root-cause of this issue, as I mentioned earlier, the upbringing of the parent shows the well-being of every child, be it a diamond or just a stone in the edge of street of life. Last but not least, poverty plays a role in this cause. How? Family poor in education and financial support couldn't cope up with this grappling issue as they are not aware of contraceptives like birth-control pills and condom usage and also haunted with expenditures for newborn babies.

When we look into a wide scope, most countries are struggling to curb baby dumping issue and stop more babies from being abandoned in rubbish can, toilet bowl and streets. Impacts of this issue affect the individual, society and nation. The most ill-equipped issue to be deal with is the future of the baby when it's being dumped without any sense of humanitarian of its mother. Next, the mother-to-be is being isolated from the society as result of fornicating and not getting supporting guide to make the right choice. As a result, the good name of the country is affected with increasing crime in statistical review and devastating the nation to develop further with a black spot.

Stigma that emphasize on abstinence results in wedlock babies which is not only seen as a sin from religious bodies, but also punishable crime in the eye of law and order. Make love, not babies please! Everything starts with knowledge, nowadays it's one of the efficient way to educate young generation about the awareness of premarital sex. Government believes that sex education could appropriate but society still shying away with the term used, so it is now renamed to Social and Reproductive Health Education. Next, baby hatch could be a better option to avoid mother-to-be from prosecution and give bright future for the baby. Frequent checking on hot-spot areas like hotels and dormitories should be conducted to avoid illicit abstinence.
Unmarried girls' life is in turmoil when the society having a connotation toward them which spread like a taboo of having illegitimate child in the womb, there is no use of crying over spilled milk any longer. Rather than advising young people why not to do it, it's better to educate them on how to come up with a pragmatic initiative to solve the issue.

If I were to be a young mother at the age of 20's, am I ready to be thrown out of the family with no education and money for having a baby out of wedlock? Definitely the answer will be NO!

A War with World Poverty

                           A Beggar’s Life

At the end of the street,
By the dustbin, homed by swamps of flies,
Where nothing pungent smells fragrances the air,
Lays the lonely beggar.
Fighting the hailstorms,
With no food nor light,
With no bed nor clothes,
He shivers in the cold, and
Burns in the sun,
Patiently,
Awaiting his fate to end.
At the end of the street,
Lies a beggar,
Whose life is nothing but misery,
There he lies in the corner,
Accompanied by the sounds of his rumbling stomach.
At the end of the street,
Lies a beggar.
Whose suffering is known by many,
Yet, understood by none.
Thus,
This shall be your destiny.
A destiny,
so cruel and unjustified.
A destiny,
That you must endure until you reach the end of your path.

Poverty! It is a simple word that is filled with floods of tears and screams of misery of every soul which endures this problem. Did you know that everyday thousands of people find themselves well below the poverty line? Some are starving themselves to death and some don’t even have a place to rest their heads every night. Poverty is a common scenario that is known by all but what we fail to realize is current state of poverty.

So what exactly does poverty mean? Poverty is a condition where there is a lack of basic needs such as food, clothes and shelter. It is the call to start taking action whether you are poor or wealthy. A call to change the world of today where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer.

We are now in the dawn of modern technology where launching rockets and creating nuclear weapons are our main priority. When we are busy making improvement to what we already have there are many others who are still eating sand and sleeping under the sky as their roof. It is now time for us to set our priorities right, however to do so, we must first analyze the cause of this problem. So why does poverty occur? Is it enough to blame poor people for their own predicament? Have they been lazy, made poor decision and been solely responsible for their plight? What about the government? Have they pursued policies that actually harm successful development? Such causes of poverty  are no doubt real, but what we fail to notice are the deeper and more global causes of poverty which less often discussed.

Behind the increasing interconnectedness promised by globalization are global decisions, policies and practices. These are typically influenced, driven, or formulated by the rich and powerful aristocrats. In the face of such enormous external influence, the government of poor nations and their people are often powerless. As a result, in the global context, a few get wealthy while the majority struggle.

To alter this situation, it is necessary for each individual to establish their own goal to end poverty and hunger. With the participation and involvement of everyone, poverty can easily be solved. Through simple changes such participating in campaigns and donating funds we can make this world a better place. The choice is in our hand. Let us work together to stop poverty. It is our responsibility to make poverty a history.

Norm of the Modern Age

Today, we are in the modern era where revolution of technology matters most. Technology is the benchmark of civilization. However are we really civilized? It is a fact that more than half
of us would say yes to that question. Why? The answer is simple. We, the people of the 21st century are just materialistic and practical people. To us, our main goal is to just obtain materialistic satisfaction.

The sad part is, many of us still fail to understand the fact that the more civilized we become the more less human we are. In the journey of achieving the standards of civilization, we lose our humanity. You may be wondering what is humanity? Well my dear friends, humanity is the key property which makes animals like us humans. It gives us superiority above all the other creature. So have we put our humanity to good use? Want to know the answer, just take a glance around yourself. All that we can see is crime everywhere.

Hearing about the brutal rape and murder of college student in New Delhi, India is the wake up call for mankind on how serious the problem of abusing and bullying. It is warning sign that animosity among humans are spreading faster than viruses. To those who have not come across this news, look at the picture below. Is this how a human should behave?

Do you think this bestiality should be ignored? Should we jeopardize the life of many others? Let us embark on the journey to find our humanity back. Let this problem be a stepping stone for us to solve other social complication as well. To do so, we must first understand what exactly does abusing and bullying mean and the causes which leads to this outbreak. Bullying or abusing refers to a repeated but unintentional action that can be harmful and has a lasting impact on an individual. It is actually a behavior that is learned in response to stress in the abuser’s world. Anger, frustration and low self esteem are the most common factor which leads to this problem.

So how does this stressor form? Every child is born in this world as a blank paper. This blank paper is filled through each experience that the child endures. So in my opinion, parents are the primary cause to this problem. The negligence of parents in doing their duty results in the child to establish a wrong perception that violence is the only way to deal with interpersonal dilemmas. Indirectly, this gives rise to anger and violence in an individual and as a consequence, they tend to bully and abuse other individual to release their anger and frustration which may lead them to kill innocent people. Apart from strained parental relationship, poor academic performance, non supportive peer network and anxiety regarding physical appearance can also be the causes of this inhumanely act. Based on statistics, more than half of those who are bullies and abuser was a victim of the same scenario. Being a victim they become agonized and revengeful. Once they obtain an opportunity, their main goal is let others endure the pain and suffering that they been through.

In my opinion, to see a crime and not taking any action is just the same as committing the crime itself. So in a way, all of us are the cause of abusing and bullying. Thus, it becomes the responsibility of all mankind to step up and solve this problem. Here are just a few suggestions on the first step of curing this pandemic situation. Developing realization through campaigns, books and advertisement is crucial in solving this problem. If every individual realizes the importance of fulfilling their responsibility, then this problem will never occur. Seeking the aid of the mass media is another way to help reduce this complication. The mass media has a very vast impact on the mankind. Through mass media, we can easily portray the effect of bullying and abusing as well as alternatives to end this wave of animosity among humans. Besides that, establishment of strict rules and regulations will definitely create fear in those who want to commit the crime. So let us join hands in taking the first step of destroying the animosity which continuously destroys the life of many.
